Red Ribbon Na Naman

It is 10:54 a.m. at the east coast and I only had coffee for breakfast. Then, I came across red ribbon’s website here in the U.S. and OMG, it makes me drool!!! Not a good sight if you are hungry. I am also shopping for a cake for my daughter’s birthday next month. I would love to get one of their cakes for her. Wish I could leave work right now but I can’t yet. For now I’ll settle for whatever the coffee truck has today.

Another Pinoy At The Ellen De Generes Show

Another Filipino was at the Ellen de Generes show yesterday. His name is Rhap Salazar, 12 years old, a junior champ at the recently concluded World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA). He was discovered by Ellen via YouTube again, like Charice. Rhap Salazar performed his winning piece Celine Dion’s “All By Myself” and Ellen commented that his voice is “incredible” with so much “power and emotion.” The Ellen de Generes show paid for all his expenses from the Philippines to the U.S.

A Weekend Over Pacman, Good Food & Friends

Weekend came by too fast. We started our Saturday with a breakfast at Panera. It was raining, wet and a little windy. We haven’t had Panera breakfast for quite some time since Starbucks started serving breakfast. I missed the asiago cheese bagel with cream cheese. Now you know what I had at Panera last Saturday. From there, we met my husband’s friend for some business then we went to the post office to drop off some packages, then to a ups store to inquire about freight charges, to home depot and lowes for some stuffs for home. Three hours have already passed since I had that bagel so by this time I was already starving. We went to the mall to grab something to eat and for me to be able to go to bath and body works to exchange some lotion for a different scent. Last stop was the supermarket for food shopping. They always say that never go food shopping when you are hungry kasi lalo ka lang mapapagastos. That’s another hour again at the supermarket. We were finally home around 4pm.

It is a MUST that we have to take a nap because the Pacquiao – Cotto game will be that night. We were unsure if we were going to watch the game at our house or at his brother’s (20 miles away) or at hooter’s (not sure though is they are airing the fight). My husband said, “let’s just see what happens after we take a nap.”

We were awaken by a phone call from our neighbor inviting us to their house to see the Pacquiao game but he said he has to pick up somebody at the airport first. Ok lang coz the main fight will not start before 11pm and they are just 3 houses away from us. For the meantime, we were watching the pre-fights online… yes online on a website that my brod gave me. Sabi nga ni hubby, “dito nalang tayo manood” but who would wants to miss the fun of watching the fight with friends, right? Puro sigawan, action at ingay for the whole hour Pacman was punching Cotto left and right. See that bloody face Cotto!!!!OMG! Congratulations Manny Pacquiao/Pacman/MP and Team Pacquaio for giving the Filipinos another victory. Shempre after the fight we did not go home right away coz there are still a lot of Coronas opened and everybody was overwhelmed by the Pacquiao victory. Finally, we bid our goodbyes around 2am. ‘Kala mo din a magkikita ulit eh.

In less than 10 hours, we were all back again at the same house for lunch (a welcome party for someone who just came from Philippines) but that’s after we did some errands in the morning. Tsibugan na naman at kwnetuhan until it was almost dark again. You know it gets dark so early so it was like tapos na naman ang Sunday. When we got home, we did three loads of laundry and ate dinner around 8pm. As we were about to go to bed, I got a phone call from my friend’s daughter that her mom was rushed by an ambulance to the hospital – migraine/headache, blood pressure shoot up. She is a single mom and I don’t want the kids to go to the hospital anymore. So I went by myself; hubby has to be home with our daughter sleeping. Thank God, she was fine. It was all hypertension. She was discharged around 1:30 a.m.

I know I was able to get some sleep (like 4 hours!). I already had two cups of coffee. Still, 4 hours before 5pm! I will make it.

Piggy Bank
