Last year, we did not go on vacation because we have visitors from our home country for the whole summer. This summer, we are not expecting visitors to be coming so we are planning to go to Myrtle Beach this August. The big kids want to come again with us together with the two little boys.
I have been checking a travel site everyday. The prices keep on going up as it gets closer to summer. A friend suggested that I should check the for rent by owners resorts or condos in the Myrtle Beach area since they are cheaper than hotel prices. With the for rent by owners, you are negotiating directly to the owner of the property.
I have requested for four quotes through email through their website. I already got couple of responses. I got an email from a Cincinnati lawyer but I am not sure if he is the real owner or is just representing somebody else. I was really surprised reading the correspondence coming from a Cincinnati criminal lawyer. I was expecting somebody from the same area too. I would be more surprised if this is the Cincinnati OVI lawyer that I met before. For the quotes he gave me, the condos are reasonably priced for the 2BR and 3BR but I saw the price decrease by the end of August. Three more weeks later that our target date is still ok looking at the savings we can get.
If I do not get any more quotes from other owners by the weekend, I would close the deal with this one.
The dates are still perfect and by the time we come back from SC, we be heading for the U.S. Open in NYC.
