Since we have decided to take a vacation to the Philippines this year, my brother always emails me his orders which are mostly clothes and gadgets. I buy them little by little and just put everything in one box until it is time for us to leave. So far I have collected a lot of stuffs not only for him but for my folks back home.
I have bought him this shirt which I found so funny. Story behind it is that, this brother of mine never lived far away from my mom. He is a mama’s boy as you may call it. My other brother is in U.A.E. working but this one has no plans of leaving home which is I am so thankful because he takes care of her. I wish I am in the Philippines to see Pops and Martin concert entitled “Missing You.” This is their first concert together in the Philippines after many years of being separated/divorced. They both have a life of their own now, Martin with Katrina (with son Santino) and Pops with Jomari. The pre-valentine show will be on February 6th at the Araneta Coliseum, produced by no other than pop’s boyfriend Jomari Yllana and directed by Rowell Santiago. Their 80’s show Penthouse Live was the “in” show during my years (it figures how old I am now) and Pops and Martin was a perfect pair making kilig to a lot of Kolehiyalas before. Seeing them again is like bringing back the old times and I am sure they will be singing the songs they used to sing at Penthouse Live. Bring the show to NJ, please!

I am watching the Australian Open live right now between Roddick vs. Djokovic but I don't think I would be able to finish the game. They are only at the first set and it's already 11:30 p.m. here. I predict a five set game for this one. I don't have any favorite between the two although Roddick is one of the three Americans left. Oh maybe, one of the two. I think Blake lost last night. The temperature in Sydney is over 100 degrees right now while here is at 27 degrees with a big snow storm expected tomorrow night. Give us some of the heat.

We brought the van for a car wash yesterday and it was a bit scary for my daughter. It's a drive thru car wash and we were left inside the van while my husband stepped out to pay. I took pictures from inside while the car is being washed. My daughtertook my jacket off and hid underneath it while the car is moving. The brushes were like creatures to her creeping on the car windows. Once we got out of the machine, she yelled, "i'm not scared anymore!"

Last night I was not able to drop ec's on this blog. I felt so guilty when I opened my computer this morning so I decided dropping right away. Since my daughter has started schooling, my work schedule has changed. I do not mind it but sometimes it gets so dark when it is time for me to go home. Although I have a car but it is scary to be walking from the office to the parking lot by myself at night time. I think I wanted to buy pepper spray as a protection if somebody grabs me in the dark. My husband has become so concerned about my case since the start of the winter because it gets dark so early. I always talk to him while I walk to my car but I still want a pepper spray for my own safety. Better be safe than sorry.

I know that they have been doing some cutting in school so I printed cutting practice materials from the internet so that she can practice more. I wonder why she was so quiet inside the bedroom. When the kids are quiet, you know that something mysterious is going on. She was cutting pages from her entire cinderella book! She was only starting when I caught her. Not too much damage. Oh, I forgot to mention, first try was her bangs. It grew back fast. Just LOL when she is not looking.

I was watching The Buzz at TFC today and the headline was "Rustom Padilla is dead according to Bebe Gandanghari." What dah! Akala ko manghuhula si Bebe predicting that Rustom is going to die in 2009. Hinde, wrong! Rustom Padilla(the name not the person) is dead; now sHE is Binibining "bebe" Gandanghari. In short, sHe changed his name! Naloka Ako!
When Ruffa Gutierrez commented that "sayang, crush ko pa naman si Rustom", Bebe answered her, "you had the brother (robin) anyway!" Toink!
Since it is too cold to be outside, we decided to stop by the indoor paintball field next town. At first we were just watching them play but hubby tried it later. He loved it and now he is surfing the net researching about paintball online. He wants to know more about this game and what gears he needs like dye paintball gun, masks, markers, vest, and a lot more. This could be a new adventure for him and an alternative to tennis during the cold season. My husband is also trying to persuade some of his friends to try paintball so that they could play as a group one day.
It is very very cold here right now. The temperature is 12 degrees but it feels like negative 2. My daughter is bundled up to keep her warm. I put leggings, knee high socks then her thickest jeans plus 4 layers of tops, bonnet, hood, gloves and high boots. In school, before the bell rings you wait outside the building but during very cold days and inclement weather they open the gym to let the students get inside early. I had my car running with the heat on for 20 minutes before we left the house to make it warm inside.This is one of the coldest weather I can remember.

A US airways plane bound for North Carolina crashed into the frigid Hudson River this Thursday afternoon. This passenger plane, an Airbus 320 took off from La Guardia Airport. It has been reported that the cause of the crash was the plane hit a flock of birds that disabled two engines. Hudson River is the river that separates New York and New Jersey. The crash happened along the river by 48th street in Midtown Manhattan three minutes after take off. All the passengers in yellow life vests and crews are safe after they got pulled out from the plane by rescuers. Water right now at the Hudson river is frigid, close to icy water. Temperature is at 15 degrees right now but feels like five degrees because of the wind factor. No deaths or injuries were reported so far. I salute the pilot in superbly handling this difficult situation with all his passengers safe and no destruction on land.

The second baby to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner was born January 6, 2009 in Los Angeles. Today, the proud parents told people magazine that they are naming their baby Seraphina Rose Elizabeth Affleck. No explanation was given for that name. Their first baby Violet, now 3 years old was born in 2005.
Although it was cold and very icy last weekend, we still went to a wedding rehearsal for my nephew’s forthcoming wedding next month. My daughter is one of the flower girls together with her two cousins from South Jersey. For this rehearsal, the ladies are all required to wear the bride t-shirts they have sent us earlier through the mail. This is really a nice idea suggested by the wedding planner to give bridal shirts to members of the entourage. Even the flower girls have their own bride shirts, too!

I slept around 3am last night because I decided to change the template of my other blog. It took me forever because my first choice does not show the my entire header so I changed it again. I settled for a simple one but I may change it again because of the color. I like the layout though.
We woke up very late, had our breakfast of rice, eggs, ham and tuyo around 11:30 am. Hubby asked me if what has to be done today. I said we have to go to the Asian store. Right away we left after eating to be back before 1pm to see the giants game. Sad to say, they lost. On our way home, we stopped by dunkin donuts to get coffee, decaf for me and regular for papa. We need that caffeine.
So that's our Sunday. Just finished dinner. It's time to go to shower and get my daughter to bed. Gotta go so that I won't be late for the 2009 Golden Globe Awards (sa TV lang!).
Weekend is over. Too short.

School break is over. It’s back to school. Back to normal schedule. When I picked her up, she still got Christmas gifts from her classmates. I remember I did not send her to school on the last day because of bad weather so Santa held on to her gifts.
So, when is the next holiday? Maybe, in six weeks for us (President’s day). I do not think we are off on Martin Luther King. Hmp, too long but the bright side is that it is getting closer to spring time. Wishful thinking. I think we have another storm this week. Haay!

Just read on aol.com/popeater.com that John Travolta’s 16 year old son, Jett, died while the family is vacationing in the Bahamas. It was reported that the boy suffered seizure at the hotel and attempts to revive him were not successful. He is John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston’s oldest son. When we went to my brother-in-law’s house for the New Year, his sister-in-law and family were also there to party. I have not seen her for a long time and I was surprised that she had another son. On Christmas eve, I noticed I forget to buy a gift for my friend’s son. Hurriedly we went to Walmart and bought a game for a PSP then I saw this leapster 2 for $59.99. A ah, I said. Ten dollars is ten dollars. So I bought another one from Walmart and returned the one I bought from target the day after Christmas. It was new and unused, unwrapped, still with the receipt. Saved $10 plus tax.
