Candies for Halloween

The candies are ready for tonight's trick or treaters. My husband and daughter are home. It's almost 5pm and he said some kids have started coming. He just picked up my daughter from the baby sitter and she is sleeping. She got tired. I'm sure they went around trick or treating in their area. By the time I get home, she is recharged for another round of halloween fun.

We are going to have a nice weather today. High of 62 degrees and around 48 degrees by sundown. It is perfect for trick or treating.

My daughter will have a halloween parade in school at 10 am. She will be a witch princess this year. We will do trick or treating around the neighborhood around 4 or 5 pm.

Bop-Along with the Bop-a-Lots

Last weekend we went to a birthday party. The theme of the party was Bop Along with the Bop-a-lots. They have Huggy bop, Silly bop and Sugar bop at the party. My daughter was dancing with the three mascots. She had so much fun with all her friends and the birthday girl.

Guess what we did after the party? We went to buy Bop-a-Lots dvd which was named as the parenting magazine "dvd of the year!". I recommend this dvd for kids because it teaches the kids “how” to think, encourages and motivate curiosity, playfulness and imagination. This is my daughter’s favorite dvd right now and I will be buying more of this to complete the series.

Cold Night

It's freezing here tonight. My computer registers at 42 degrees but I think it's in the 30's right now. Some parts of New York (upstate) had their first snow. I have not seen on TV yet but my husband told me they already had 13 inches!!!! What Dah!! I don't want that yet. I don't like snow anymore. It was fun during my first year here in Jersey but not anymore now. It's so quite at my house right now, everybody's sleeping. Good night everyone.

Dark Rainy Day

It’s a rainy day today. This is a picture I took while driving on my way to pick up my daughter from school. The road was a mess. Sometimes when you have to be at a certain place at a certain time you tend to go faster but I took my time driving. I think I have experienced hydroplaning. I cannot forget this word – as a flashback, when I took my driving exam this was asked and I was not sure of my answer, all I know is that hydro means water. To continue, I made just in time for my daughter’s dismissal. Her teacher was already holding her when I got there. It means that they did not see anybody familiar to pick her up. The teachers release the kids one by one during dismissal time to make sure that somebody is there to grab her. You have to give a list of persons allowed to pick up your kids. From school, we proceeded to mcdonalds to get her french fries and chicken nuggets. It was pouring. My small lo-tech umbrella was not a help at all. I brought her to our new sitter thinking that my daughter will say something like she does not want to be there but she was alright. I made back to work safely but slowly.

For six years, he has not left his bed and if he has to be transported it has to be in a flatbed truck. Even if he has not left his bed for six years, Manuel was still able to find a bride. He just got married to his longtime girlfriend Claudia Solis. The wedding ceremony took place at a local event hall in Monterrey, Mexico where his custom made bed was decorated with a canopy, flowers and gold-trimmed bows. He was wearing a white silk shirt with a sheet wrapped around his legs and the bride wore a strapless ivory dress with a tiara and a hot pink lipstick. Goodbye and Hello

Today my friend’s mom is leaving for Manila. She has been my daughter’s companion after she gets off from school until her dad picks her up at 4pm. She has been very good to my daughter and she was like a nanay to us. There will be a lot of changes with our schedule now that Naynay is gone for the meantime.

Today also, we went to my co-workers house so that we could meet my co-worker’s wife who is willing to take Isabella after school. They have to be introduced to each other. I have known her for several years now. She is a stay at home mom, all kids are grown-up and my co-worker just wants her to keep busy. I hope my daughter will take the adjustment ok, first of all, she is not pinay….you know what I mean. She is a very nice lady otherwise I will not accept the offer but you know how kids are sometimes. It takes a while before they accept changes. Let us see what happens on Monday.

The New Mercedes-Benz GLK Class

The SUV that my husband drives is a leased vehicle. We only have until February next year before the contract expires and as early as now we are already looking around for a new replacement. Once we found what we like we can easily return the vehicle even before the expiration without any penalty. We have been the eyeing on The new Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class which will be available in January 2009. It is a 5-passenger small SUV just perfect for the three of us. This could be an early birthday treat for my hubby next year. He does not want to lease this time. We will be purchasing it and it will be for keeps. I know he deserves a Mercedes.

Jennifer Hudson's Mom & Brod Shot to Death

I just read this gruesome news about Jennifer Hudson’s mom, Darnell Donerson and brother, Jason Hudson, murdered at their Chicago home. They were found shot dead at their house by a family member at around 3pm Friday. A 7 year old nephew of Jennifer is still missing. The report said that the child was possibly abducted by a man whom they considered a suspect in the double homicide.

Friday at Last

I am so happy that it’s Friday once again. Last night I was so beat that I did not finish dropping my EC’s. I will make up this weekend. After work, I went to my boss late wife’s service at one of the nursing homes here. It was nice seeing him. Some people he does not remember their names anymore so you have to introduce yourself. I have seen some ex-employees of the company paying respect to our boss. What made me more tired was sitting in traffic for half an hour on my way home. I thought I took a better route taking the parkway but it was bad because of an accident. Along the way, I called my husband if he wants we can just buy dinner but he said he started cooking already (he knows how to cook in times of need) – thanks! After dinner, he told me to take and put Isabella to bed early. Yah right, a nap of up to 11pm! I woke up with my back aching, my husband massage some icy hot and it felt better. I headed to my computer to start my ec dropping but my eyes just want to close. The mind was willing but the flesh was weak.

It’s time To Bundle Up

We started to turn on the heat since yesterday. It’s not full blast, I put it on 68-69 degrees. I bundled up Isabella a bit this morning. It was 48 but because of the wind chill it feels like 42. At least, the sun is up which will make it warmer later. I hope it won't be cold on Halloween night so that everybody can enjoy trick or treating.

It's not friday anymore so i'd say thank god it's saturday. Good morning to all or good evening to my friends at the other side of the globe. It's only Saturday a.m. here, I'm at work for few hours to make up for my lazy days. My folks are still sleeping and I will be home for brunchtime. Saturdays at my job is light work, just for some OT.

Last night we had a nice dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant called Bhin Dhong. This has been our favorite place for the past weeks. I always forget to take picture although I had my camera with me. It was my barkada's b-day - one of my daughter's godmothers. Called her and they are in Vegas for her birthday weekend. Miss!. If I still live in CA, I'm sure i am there celebrating too.

Today is probably a costco and food shopping day. I have to check my list before we go. My daughter enjoys costco a lot on Saturdays becuase of all the food tastes. Me too!

It's Halloween Season

One of the favorite events of the year which is Halloween is almost here. My daughter is already excited when we started decorating out doorstep with Halloween decorations and lighted pumpkin heads. We always start our Halloween celebration by going apple picking then from there we buy stuffs for our decorations.
This year will be a little different for my daughter. First of all, she has started with school so she is going to attend the school’s Halloween parade on October 31st. I already got the letter from the school yesterday stating the guidelines about their masquerade party after the parade. She is ready with her costume but I am still keeping it from here because I know that she would like to wear it every day.

Car Inspection

I did not realize that my car was due for inspection. Actually, it was overdue. The sticker on the windshield says sept 08. That freaking sticker is right in front of my eyes everyday that I drive the car but never get a chance to take a look at it until last night after I got home from work. OH MY GOLLY WOW! The sticker is expired!!! So, first thing this morning, went to Motor Vehicles for inspection. They open at 7am. It was a breeze. Nobody is still there. My car passed the inspection. Thank God the check engine light did not turn on. So now, I am not due for another one until sept 2010.

It’s my Turn for Fund Raising

For the past years, I have been a supporter of my co-workers’ kids, nieces and nephews fund raising. It’s my turn starting this year to do one for my daughter. I just found in her book bag a fund raising packet from her school. I am so thankful that a lot of people here are very supportive on kids school’s fund raising. You do not have to beg or ask from them. We just leave the order forms on the shelf and they place their orders themselves. Thank you Guys.

Watching Movies for 123 Hours

Two movie lovers, Suresh Joachim of Toronto, Canada and Claudia Wavra of Petersburg Germany, were proclaimed winners in the recently concluded Netflix Popcorn Bowl event held in a plexi-glass house in Times Square New York. The duo watched movies continuously for 123 hours and 10 minutes that began on October 2 ending on October 7 at 3:10 p.m. The movie marathon started with 8 participants and only 2 remaining by 72nd hour. This is now the new Guinness World Record for most consecutive hours spent in watching movies. The rules of the contest were, each movie will be watched until the last credit is shown, there will be judges to monitor them and doctors are present to check them if they can still endure the long hours of watching movies. It’s Papa’s turn

Since papa is off today, it’s his turn to bring and pick up our daughter from school today (first time). I had everything ready last night; her clothes, shoes, snacks and book bag. It was a success but they were late for a few minutes this morning. They just called me after dismissal time and now they are off to Panera bread for some bagel. I’ll see them in two hours.

Learn More About Bible Stories

Do you still remember the set of books My Bible Friends? This is an old set of books that my mother had bought me when I started my Kindergarten. I love these books so much, not only because of its pictures but the different bible stories. They were all well kept that my daughter can enjoy reading them when she gets to go home for vacation at grandma’s house. My favorite bible story of all time was about Moses where he was sent away in a basinet, pushed to a river to escape being murdered and was found by a beautiful Egyptian princess who raised Moses like a child of her own. I would like to relate this story to what is happening around us today. We always read in the papers about abortion, babies being abandoned by their mothers, maltreated or found in garbage cans. How can a mother do that to her own child while the princess who found Moses just took him and cared for him even is he is not her own. Babies are angels; they are the most innocent person in the world. They are supposed to be treated well and showered with abundant love. It is just so sad to be hearing this kind of stories every day.

Summer Weather in October

We have been blessed with beautiful weather since Friday. It was gorgeous over the weekend reaching of up to almost 80 degrees. This is bit surprising in a month of October. Today up to Wednesday would be the same with a chance of showers on Thursday. I am wearing my Bermuda shorts at work right now (yes, we are allowed) but I always bring a hoodie with me. I freeze because of the AC. I am out of here by 2pm to enjoy the sunshine.

Tennis Day

It was tennis Friday yesterday. We start playing around 5pm after I arrive from work. It was a perfect day to play, not hot, no wind and a bit cold (like a light sweater day). The tennis court is right in our town, a minute drive from our house. Before, when me and my husband play, our daughter will go to the park (right next to the court) to play swing and slide but now not anymore. She wants to play tennis too. So, I and she play doubles on one side while papa is by himself. If she does not get the ball, you hear her screammiinggg, “its issa’s turn!!!”

Problems with Entrecard

I already have a post last night similar to this. This time I can log on then go to the dashboard but once i click drops inbox, it hangs or very very slow or your you get a page load error/network timeout or it says entrecard application server failed. I've been trying it again and again for an hour now but nada! I'm in the mood for dropping ec's today but i don't think I may have enough time. It's almost bedtime here. I think I have a valid excuse for the night.

Do you recognize the person wearing a gown? I did not. I first saw this on TFC and my husband was yelling at me to come see who is on TV. I can tell that the person is a man wearing a gown but no hint at all that he is RUSTOM PADILLA!!!! Yes, mga kaibigan! The youngsters may not now him but he is a famous actor of the 90’s and the ex-husband of Carmina Villaroel. Kilala niyo na siguro si Carmina, is she on a show with Geli de Belen? So Rustom used to be a boyfriend, then a husband until they separated (or divorced/annulled) for obvious reason. After their marriage, he distant himself but rumors spreading around about his sexuality until he publicly admitted it. I have nothing about gays, in fact, I have several gay friends up to this day. It is just so shocking to see him in public (Urian Awards Night) fully made up wearing a gown. Ano kaya ang comment ni Kuya Robin Padilla?

I did not bring any lunch today and all I have in mind the whole morning was shrimp roll. I have not had it in a long time. My craving influenced some co-workers too but they want spring roll. Sad Day at Work

The owners of the company I work with are a father and son team. The President(still) is the father who is 87 years old, now in a nursing home. He is the founder this business with two other friends. The VP is the Pres. Son who has been acting as the president since his father became inactive with the business due to old age.


This morning, our office manager got a call from the salon where the president wife regularly goes every week. She informed her the Mrs. E did not come today and she is worried. My co-worker called our President’s niece to check her house (she does not want to live with her husband at the nursing home so she is home alone but she has that emergency thing on her wrist-just in case, you know). The niece found her car at the garage and right away they suspected something. Called the cops and they found her dead on her bed. She probably died in her sleep. The niece told us that the last time she spoke to her was Saturday night but she failed to visit her Sunday. Now, the family’s problem is how to break the sad news to her widowed 87 year old husband at the nursing home. The whole family will get together tomorrow and tell him. Hope he takes it ok. We are praying. So sad.

I'm Home Early

It's only around 1pm but I am already home. My allergies are bothering me again.....watery eyes and sneezing. It kept quiet during summer but now I guess the allergy season is here again.

Today is kinda cold here.We only have highs of up to the middle 60's (not even).It's windy too, making the temperature colder. I like this kind of cold, no need to turn the heat yet but enough to make you curl up under the comforter.

I will try to take a nap. I already took my allegra-d, hoping that it would take effect sooner. TGIF!

We Went Apple Picking

This is an overdue post but better late than later.

I am sharing some pictures taken when we went apple picking. Its about 20 minutes from where we live. We did not go far this year. It was unplanned. We decided to go that Sunday morning while thinking of a place where to spend the afternoon.










To go to where the apple trees are, its a must that we do the hay ride. They just call it a hay ride but actually the purpose was to transport us to where the plantation is. We paid $5/person for the entrance and each plastic bag that you will use to put your apples is $7. You can put as many apples the bag can carry but it's eat all you can from the tree.
