A Long Weekend

Hi good morning to all. How's everybody's saturday? Mine is alright. I'm having toast right now and hot chocolate. I only drink coffee when hubby gets one. I try to minimize my caffeine. Bad for my hyper acidity. Back to my morning.... it's misty outside, no sun but it's a long weekend, why will I complain. My daughter is already awake having fun with her new scissors and art papers, hubby went back to bed when he realized it was raining outside (can't play tennis) while I already had 1 opp. Maybe we will have late breakfast at panera later. Zorayda Sanchez passed away

Do you still remember the comedian actress Zorayda Sanchez? She used to be a mainstay of Goin’ Bananas in the 1990’s with Christopher de Leon, Johnny Delgado, Jay Ilagan, Edgar Mortiz and Al Tantay. Sad to hear that she just pass away last Wednesday due to cancer. She died at her home after she was discharged from Marikina Valley hospital. She was 58 years old and her wake is being held at Angono, Rizal. Aside from being a movie actress, Zorayda was also a writer for Manila Bulletin, a stage actress and a university professor. Let us all pray for her soul.

First day at the U.S. Open

Me and hubby went at the opening day of the U.S. Open last Monday in Flushing, Queens New York. We got there around 10:30 am but the matches start at 11:00 am. I am sharing some pictures taken on our first day.

How's everybody doing? I am sorry if I haven't been to your sites lately. I have been so busy with family and work. Thank you for the visits..i will make up as soon as i get the chance. Today was spent at the U.S. Open with hubby. This is an annual event to us. We had a good time. I have pictures to share as soon as they get downloaded from my camera. I have to make a separate post for this too. Hubby still wants to go back tomorrow for the day session but we've been checking the tickets online, it seems that its sold out. To the U.S. Open

We have just purchased our tickets online to the U.S. Open this coming Monday. I am so excited. For the last 5 years, we have been going to the open every year. It will be from August 25 to September 7 at the Tennis Center in Queens, New York. Just in time, the Olympic ends on Sunday, then U.S. Open starts on Monday. We always go on the first day because at the opening you see more games even only on the side courts with top 10 players playing. I sure will take a lot of pictures. See you at The Open.

Orchid named After Ninoy Aquino

Today marks the 25th death anniversary of Sen. Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino, Jr. He was assasinated August 21, 1983 at the Manila airport while coming down from a plane. As part of the commemoration of his death anniversary a new breed of yellow orchid is named after him making Ninoy a part of nature so we can remember him forever. The unveiling of the orchid, which will be named Dendrobium Ninoy Aquino, was done at a Quezon City park.

some Updates

My visitors just called me and they are at Central Park. They really can not get enough of New York. Yesterday, they went to times square, rockefeller, madison square garden, empire state and south sea port. Today they like to visit all the museums. I wish I can be with them but I can not take off. Signs summer is almost over

I took these pictures from a dollar store we went to last weekend. Is summer really over soon? Once you see fall and thanksgiving decorations, you will notice daytime is becoming shorter and shorter. How's your Monday?

Well, mine is so dragging...maybe because I am so tired and sleepy. Since we had a very tiring day last Saturday (another post is coming for this), we practically spent Sunday sleeping to recover from lack of sleep friday night and saturday night. I think I overslept too much that last night at around 1:00 a.m I was still awake. I jump out of bed when the alarm went off at 6am ....GGGRRRR! As my daughter always says when she needs more sleep.."i want more bed mommy"...Can't wait for 5pm...

Stuck at La Guardia Airport NYC

Last night we were at La Guardia to pick some family friends from LA. The arrival time was 5:30 p.m. from Chicago. Before we left the house, it started to rain hard, like pouring rain. I tried calling them just in case their flight got cancelled but nobody picks up - it means they are on board. The rain stopped before we got to the airport. On the flight status monitor, at first their flight is arriving at 6:50 p.m...so ok..we got it early. At 7 pm. I went to check, now it says 7:05..ok pa din. We went to get food, finish eating no phone calls still. Check the monitor...their flight is not listed anymore. It says that if your flight is not listed, call your airline. My phone rung, it was my friend - guess where they are? in Pennsylvania! Ganda!, while we are in New York waiting for them. Susme! What happened? Few minutes before landing, it was announced that we are having a tornado so they were on air for 45 minutes and they ran out of fuel. They are in Pennsylvania airport to refuel but still it took so long because all the flights that got rerouted or cancelled started started back again all at the same time - probably their plane cannot get a clearance right away. It was still a happy ending. They arrived at 11 p.m. but so tired and hungry but being new york visitors you gotta enjoy nyc by night. I don't think they are up by now, it's only 5 a.m. in LA, their body clock is still on a different time zone. They are still ZZZZnooring!

Why divers take shower at the olympics?

Father and Daughter day

My babysitter is not available today and papa was sweet enough to volunteer to call out sick. So bonding silang mag-ama ngayon. I just read on gma news that Francis Magalona has leukemia. Leukemia is cancer of the blood or bone marrow. He is in need of blood donors.
