My daughter watches dora and diego on tv and she be talking about rojo and berde to me. During stops at traffic lights she always yell, “mommy it’s rojo” and when it turns green, she will say, “mommy, it’s berde.” So I explained to her that red means you stop and green go. So now it goes like this, when she see red and I make a stop she will say," it’s rojo, it’s stop mommy…then after I stop she will say…”good job”, then when it turns green, she says, “it’s green….then go”…
This morning, we happened to go to a different route because she wants pancakes from macdonalds. She was talking about traffic lights again then I came to a stop where the light is red and there is no “no turn on red” sign and I have to make a right turn. I made a right turn and she yelled at me…”but mommy, it’s rojo (red) and it’s supposed to be stop!!!”
Ngi!!!
This is at my job’s kitchen/breakroom. We call it kitchen because it has a mini stove, refrigerator, microwave, oven toaster, pop-up toaster, a sandwich maker, sink and a dinner table with 6 chairs but no lounge chair and tv, so more as a kitchen to us than a breakroom. The best thing that was added to our kitchen is a coffee corner. Now we have 2 coffee makers, one at the warehouse which brews regular coffee only and even available to customers and this in the kitchen. On this one, you brew your own coffee, Select which flavor you want…you can choose French vanilla, hazelnut, mocha fudge, southern pecan Columbian coffee, hot chocolate or tea, both regular and decaf. The coffee comes in individual sealed cups, called K-cups and in the machine there is like a thing you pull out and pop the k-cup then wait for your coffee to pour in your cup. This machine has its own reservoir and you just have to add water once it gets low. I think it is really cool and the best coffee maker ever made. The aroma it brings everytime someone brews coffee makes you feel you are in one of those fancy coffee shops..
This you have to remember, make sure to remember to take out your used k-cups otherwise the next person will be mad if you don’t take care of you trash.

i just hang up the phone with my brother in abu dhabi, uae. he's been there for almost 8 months now working. it seems that he is having fun enjoying the independence and bachelor life. everybody in the family were happy when he finally made it to AD. thanks also to my cousin there who has been supportive to him all throughout. hope we could visit you guys or vice versa one day.
it's his birthday today. HAPPT BIRTHDAY DODS!
one of our favorite place to eat is penang, a malaysian restaurant and we always have this dish...sambal udang. this is shrimp with shrimp paste or alamang, a lot of onions, green and red pepper. our first attempt to cook it was not successful because the onions got overcooked, looked soggy and we did not put bell peppers (papa don't like bell peppers). today, we tried it again and we got it. the only thing missing was the chilli taste but everything is exactly how we wanted. papa did it!!!
the picture speaks for itself...yummy!!!

we had another snow storm yesterday. i hope this will be the last for the winter but i've heard stories of having snow on easter sunday. it was a relief for me because it's an excuse not to go to work. i called my job and they were still some brave souls who went to work. i was like them before but i'm not doing it again. now, if there is a snow storm, stay home. it is not worth it. even if you have a 4x4. best is to stay home, watch tv, play/take care of issa ( she's sick tho' ...fever... ). i did not let her play in the snow although she would lluuuvvv it. she was just at the window watching mommy clean the snow off my car.
but here what we had yesterday....ice cream!!!!
how beautiful was it yesterday...65 degrees, even registered 70 degress in my car. it was good while it lasted. and today...35 degrees...crap!!!!
when we were in the philippines last summer, we were served with sinigang by my SIL. the soup looks different, not like the clear sinigang soup but white just like when you have gabi in your sinigang but no gabi on it. so i asked her if she had put something different. it's .....the Knorr sinigang na may gabi mix! never saw it in the filipino store here. so we bought a lot to bring it back home. ibang-iba ang sinigang mo pag gamit mo 'to. since we are a family who always want soup on the table we run out of the mix sooner than we expected. buti nalang my BIL was coming we have plenty of this sinigang mix again. thanks kuya and ate au.
....and papa got his own sinigang too!!!

finally, this job is done. papa brought the truck back to wayne nissan last monday. the whole job cost $85. ($6o something for the labor + $8 for the bulb + taxes). it took them 2 hours and papa said that it seems that this light is made to last a very long time kasi wala yatang nagpapagawa ng ganitong job pero malas lang yung sa truck eh nasira. this month the truck is due for inspection too and sometimes you can get a ticket with busted brake lights. hay,.... natapos din!
i called out sick last tuesday. i had stomach virus. it really drained me out as in i was in bed the whole day. my poor baby, she ate by herself because she knows mommy is sick. she did not bother me and when i woke up i saw that the bowl of chicken noodle soup on the dining table was gone. she took it and got some dinner rolls and she ate on her small table. when she saw me awake, she's like....are you ok mommy?....you need a doctor?.....awwwwww!!!!!
two days after, it was papa naman. thanks diatabs, ginger ale and crackers.
so today, we went to lynne's nissan because when i called them last friday they quoted me the lowest..$35 daw...sweet!!! when we got there, the guy told us it will only cost $18!!!...sweeter!!!! so the guy took the car keys but we still have questions in our minds....it did not take long and the guy we spoke to at the counter who gave the quotation came back with the paperwork saying it will cost like $105 (!!!) because they have to take off the whole bedliner to be able to do the job. wwwaaattt???? labor is about $85. papi said hold it off meaning let's get out of here. ok....
next stop is another dealer in wayne. this time, the guy we spoke almost know the job/case regarding frontier brake lights. since it was almost 2:30 pm and a saturday...not a good time anymore but he said it would only be around $45. we explained the case and he sounded like he has done it before. god bless demi if he is true to his word. papi will bring the truck back there on a weekday. so let us wait again for the finish product/last update. good luck papa!
