Happy 125th B-day Brooklyn Bridge

Brooklyn Bridge is in New York City which connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. The river is called the East River. It is famous for it's architecture and strength, an icon for New York City. You get the breathtaking view of Manhattan skyline while crossing the bridge. It took 13 years to build costing around $13 million and it opened on May 24, 1883. Now 125 years later, around 126,000 cars crosses this almost 2 kilometer bridge. Many new yorkers and tourist flocked the bridge thursday night to celebrate it's 125th year. There were fireworks, a lighting ceremony, a Navy floyover, music and a birthday cake in the shape of the bridge. Happy Birthday Brooklyn Bridge!
