Little did we know that cellphones are not allowed in cuba except only to foreigners or government officials and employees. The public are not allowed to have cellphones. This is under the administration of ex president fidel castro.
Cuba in under new presidency now since February when Fidel Castro younger brother, now the new president, Raul Castro took over. On friday he allowed Cubans to buy and use mobile phones. Cellphones???....guys, cellphones!!! There are other restrictions that have been lifted also under the new administration. Even DVD players and computers are also allowed for the first time starting next month.
Hurray for the cubans. Welcome to the 21st century and long live freedom.
Cubans, can you hear me now?

Isn't that crazy that they're not allowed to have celfones? I also read that yesterday and I was in awe.

thanks for the visit. i did not know about cubans being cellphone-less.
Thank goodness that Cubans are now experiencing globalization! I know somebody originally from Cuba who is now American citizen. He's very angry with Fidel Castro. The latter took their homes and all properties. They got nothing when they go to US.What a sad memory for them. Now,we can only hope that with the new leadership, Cuba will be better than ever.Kudos to the Cubans!
