My daughter watches dora and diego on tv and she be talking about rojo and berde to me. During stops at traffic lights she always yell, “mommy it’s rojo” and when it turns green, she will say, “mommy, it’s berde.” So I explained to her that red means you stop and green go. So now it goes like this, when she see red and I make a stop she will say," it’s rojo, it’s stop mommy…then after I stop she will say…”good job”, then when it turns green, she says, “it’s green….then go”…
This morning, we happened to go to a different route because she wants pancakes from macdonalds. She was talking about traffic lights again then I came to a stop where the light is red and there is no “no turn on red” sign and I have to make a right turn. I made a right turn and she yelled at me…”but mommy, it’s rojo (red) and it’s supposed to be stop!!!”

Hello A! I remember my daughter in Ishi. She loves Dora (she even named her fish Dora) and she also learned spanish through that TV program, and we've had lots of arguments re traffic lights! Kids are like a sponge, they just absorb anything they see and hear. So while driving with our kids, let's make sure we do the right things!
